magnolias on Flickr.
Via Flickr:
i went shooting in Bronte, and met a lady who had an old magnolia tree with these magnificent magnolias….. she let me take a few shots..
it’s my birthday today, i am happy because i have a lot to be thankful for….
To new beginnings!

The Sharpness of the 50mm Distagon
After getting somewhat disappointing results from the first roll, I was better prepared this time as in using a tripod. The Hefty Fifty demands respect and its own podium (the tripod). The first is the full shot, the second a cropped version tweaked in PS CS5 using the shadows/highlights tool, Used sparingly this tool does render film images a little more detail. The sharpening was only done during scanning.
All I can say that it is growing on me a bit, but the thought of lugging it around even with my carbon fibre tripod is daunting. I have the Hassey loaded with Portra 400 and am planning some night shots, just waiting for the weather to get better. so stay tuned folks!
